Carla Wright Introduction Perceptions, Attitudes and Beliefs Influenced Interactions Attitudes and perceptions can individu onlyy be the downf all or the successful development of humanity an unbuttoned minded someone. Often times a soul gain those attitudes and perceptions through what they hear, what they see and what they choose to believe, it is not until a person research for their own personal growth does those attitudes and perceptions change. For me personally, I always felt that I was better than any adversary culture that was not American. Having this conceited attitude caused major issues for me in the workplace. I found myself being distant to those that were not African-American, or disregarding those that did not meet my standards interacting with. These perceptions were aroused by the cast out dispositions that I would here about certain cultures. It was not until I was mistreated because of my color that I realized that I was no better that the next person. It took one incident of discrimination on me to realize that I should not discriminate against opposites and everyone deserves a honest chance.
Holding attitudes that are negatively influential and not recognizing that we all are ethnically and racially different is a maneuver for any person to do some soul searching. Strengths and Weaknesses send away I think it is essentially important for those that are in psychology and those that are just a part of our lubber club to have s ome type of guideline when transaction with ! other cultures. Guidelines helps solemnizes an awareness of an individual’s attitude, and perception.
